The mission of the Valley Proud Environmental Council, a non-profit 501 (c-3) organization, is to preserve the natural beauty and environment of the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas and Mexico, by promoting education and public awareness projects, including those that encourage proper tree planting and maintenance, solid waste management and responsible behavior by all those who live and visit here. We fulfill our mission by forging partnerships between grassroots volunteer organizations and the public and private sectors, which support our projects and result in improving the quality of life, enhancing economic development and tourism, and which conserve public and natural resources.
